Another David J Reissue
This time, it's the V for Vendetta EP being released on CD. Rumored release date: June 13, 2006.

No word on tracklist yet. The original release had this tracklist:
V For Vendetta EP
12-inch vinyl
Glass Records Ltd.
glass 12032
UK
Release Date: 1984
This Vicious Cabaret / A VTV Broadcast / V's Theme / Incidental
However, there's a V's Theme (Outro) on the pre-2006 On Glass CDs, so I'm not positive this "original" tracklist is correct.

David J random Web bits
From Unnameable Theatre:
David J began his illustrious career as a founding member of Bauhaus, one of the most influential British bands of the 1980’s. They appeared in the movie ‘The Hunger’ alongside and at the suggestion of David Bowie. Following their termination in ‘83, David J joined up with The Jazz Butcher for a brief stint, producing and playing in the group. Then came Love and Rockets. Another highly successful outfit, scoring a gold record with their first release, ‘Ball Of Confusion’. With each successive album outselling the previous one, the band achieved their biggest hit to date, with the single, ‘So Alive’, which reached the number two position in the US charts in 1989. The band then embarked on a distinctly more experimental electronic style, eliciting great critical acclaim for their three albums released during the 1990’s. Love and Rockets played their last shows at the Roxy Theater in LA in 1998.
This was also the year of the ‘Bauhaus Resurrection’, the original band reforming for a sell out world tour in which they broke many house records, including The Palladium in LA, this event selling out two nights in fifteen minutes! A DVD was released featuring their two triumphant nights at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom.
Throughout David J’s tenure with these bands, he produced several solo albums which have garnered much praise, such as Matt Hoffman’s description of him as “One of the great songwriters of recent times.” His latest solo work, ‘Estranged’ was released in September of 2003 to great critical acclaim.
David J has also collaborated with various other artists, such as celebrated graphic novelist, Alan Moore ( ‘From Hell’, ‘The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen’ ), renowned author, Hubert Selby Jnr. ( ‘Requiem For A Dream’, ‘Last Exit To Brooklyn’ ), producer, musician, label owner, T Bone Burnett ( ‘Down From The Mountain’ ), MC5 founder, guitarist, vocalist, Wayne Kramer, legendary producer, Hal Wilner, poet, painter, broadcaster, Rene Halkett, City Lights published poet, Jeremy Reed and Mexico’s innovative electronica pioneers, the Nortec Collective. He also co-wrote ‘Strays’, the title track of the new Jane’s Addiction album. ( Perry Farrell describes him as the “avant of the avant-garde.” )
He has also worked extensively as a DJ since 1995, including a residency at LA’s infamous ‘Viper Room’ and is currently resident at The Standard Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles.
David J’s creative involvement has always been broader than the purely musical, creating artwork for record covers, posters and merchandise, designing stage lighting and directing videos. He is currently involved in various movie projects, scoring and collaborating on sound design with John Neff ( David Lynch ) and Ego Plum ( The Ebola Music Orchestra. ). In this field he is represented by the administrative company, Bug Music. He has his own publishing company, Urbane Music ( BMI ).
As a visual artist he has exhibited internationally. ‘The Glittering Darkness’, a book featuring his art work was published by Pie Books of Japan in 2003.
In early 2004, David’s first play, ‘Anarchy In The Gold Street Wimpy’ was staged by the acclaimed ‘Dad’s Garage’ Theater Company in Atlanta Georgia. He is currently working on his second play and composing original music for VOICES IN THE DARK: THREE PLAYS BY SAMUEL BECKETT.
Very nice press photos.

David J Message Board & Bauhaus Show announced!
Apparantly, David J Online has a new message board. Not much going on there yet as no one seems to know it exists, I guess.
In addition to telling you that, we here at loungebunny.net would like to wish David a Happy Birthday.
Now, in Bauhaus news, there is going to be a pre-Coachella show on the 28th (that's 4 days from today!) at the Glass House in Pomona, CA. Tickets are $25 and as of right now, they're still available. Ticketmaster.

L.A. Remixed
Thanks to sharp-eyed Jose, we have this tidbit:
FRIDAY, JAN 7, 2005 at 7:30 PM
L.A. Remixed takes the concept of the remix to a new level with a video remix of the exhibition L.A: light / motion / dreams accompanied by DJs and live music.
David J - David J is a founding member of Bauhaus and Love and Rockets, and a resident DJ at Downtown L.A.'s Standard Hotel. For this special night, he will be assisted by his seventeen year old son, Joe, in the creation of an ambient soundscape reflecting the theme of the wild interfacing with the urban.

Slacker
I've been slacking, mostly 'cause I can't figure out this stupid archive problem here. Anyway, lots has been going on in David J's world but silly me, I missed it. He's even moving to Los Angeles (not that it's very far).
Doesn't he know that August is the worst month to do things?
Check his website, yo.

Be la Revolución!
From davidjonline:
Propaganda presents ‘BE THE REVOLUTION’ at The Avalon, Hollywood on Thursday, May 27
A very special launch party for a new monthly club hosted by Shepard Fairey ( Obey / Studio Number One ), David J ( Love & Rockets / Bauhaus ) and Eddie Donaldson ( 'Guerilla One' media events company ). Each event will fly with a fresh theme. On this inaugural night, we shall be invoking the fall of the masters of war with a symbolic burning of the Bush administration. Within this simmering cauldron of revolution, three internationally acclaimed, LA based artists . . . Robbie Conal ( LA Weekly ‘Art Burn’ ) a brilliant draftsman, creator of arch satirical attacks, graphic street bulletins plastered on ad hoc billboards at midnight all over town, Mear-One, The ‘King of Krylon’ graffiti artist who has been ‘getting away with it’ for years as evidenced by his numerous apocalyptic urban chronicles on inner city walls from LA to the Bay and Shepard Fairey, the phenomenal phonomonist, guerilla art bomber supreme. Progenitor of the ‘Obey’ campaign . ( Andre the Giant certainly does have a posse and it’s out to get it’s man! )
All three will come together to create a triptych to express the zeitgeist. A potential art bomb to blast the real ‘axis of evil’ of Cheney, Ashcroft, Rumsfeld and Bush.
Shepard will also be turning in a DJ set along with David J. The decks shall then be employed as a weapon of mass instruction and peace by a big name mystery DJ.
Also in the house, cross cultural, polyglot agit-prop ambassadors, Ozomatli, from the Jurassic 5 camp, scratch master, Cut Chemist and ‘MoveOn’, the phenomenal online grassroots progressive political organization with additional heavy names to be added.
This will be a cross genre grand slam jam to burn down the walls of Babylon not to mention Hollywood and Vine.
More than a club, more than a party, more a revolution and a call to creative arms.
PEACE NOW!
Be there.
Be the revolution!

Finally, David J will be doing an in store appearance at Amoeba Records, Hollywood on October 3 @ 7 pm. Heyday reported that this will be followed by a live show at the Parlour Club @ 11 pm, but neither the PC nor DJ's site mention it, so you might want to call the club.
